According to the expert typographer on the video, you are only supposed to
use one space after end of sentence punctuation instead of two! One space?
What the hex?! Up is down! Black is white! Night is day!
Not able to believe this singular news at first glance, I decided to find out
for myself. I would take this on Mano a Mono. My desk happens to have several
books on it. I picked up the first one thinking this would be easy to prove
wrong. Turn to the first page - what!! One space after periods.
I pick up another book. One space. I go to my bookshelf and start grabbing
books as fast as I can. One space. One space! ONE space!! ONE SPACE!!!
All this time I never knew! All of that wasted time and wasted energy typing
two spaces after each dadgum period!! I think my thumb is starting to hurt just
thinking about it. There's a lawsuit here somewhere. All those teachers in high
school and college that insisted I double space after punctuation! Those
two-spaced, lying, %*^&!##$.
Only one space after a period? Not two? The utter foundation of all that I know
of what is good and right with the world is being shaken. Nothing makes sense
anymore. Next you'll be telling me that wine is good for me, or that bacteria might prevent cancer.
